Japan has a rich subculture of electronic arts. As of yet, much of this culture has remained undocumented and unexposed to a worldwide audience. We’re headed to Osaka and Tokyo to capture interviews, performances, and video with contemporaries of Japan’s underground electronic scene for a documentary that will investigate the cultures, the political and social crosscurrents that surround this movement, and how the collective model has made these groups successful in today’s stagnant music industry.
